Versatile Freelance Journalist and Content Writer

With more than 20 years of experience as a professional journalist and writer, Sarah has woven stories about municipal budgets, kindie rock stars and just about everything in between.

As a longtime newspaper reporter, she covered city elections; dug into neighborhood zoning squabbles; told the story of a 70-year-old bra fitter; revealed long-simmering anger over dog poop clean up; and, in a story, tackled Tiny Mites touch football.

As a website editor, she's launched two successful, revenue-generating parenting sites for media outlets in the Raleigh Durham area — TriangleMom2Mom.com for The News & Observer in 2008 and GoAskMom.com for WRAL.com, North Carolina’s top-ranked news site, in 2010.

When she stepped down from GoAskMom.com in 2021, the site had become the leading local parenting site in the region. She built that base with a battery of 20 posts a week that include features of local moms and dads; recipes; travel stories; health news; playground reviews; parenting topics; Q&As with family entertainers; and articles on subjects such as how to keep candy out of your kid’s Easter basket.  The job included weekly live segments on WRAL's morning news.

Today, Sarah works as a freelance journalist and content marketing writer, regularly turning in pithy copy on topics as varied as the future of work, B2B technology, parenting and sports.
